Pickleball court cleaning in Vietnam is the periodic deep cleaning of acrylic-coated courts: removing grime, moss and algae that build up on the surface, restoring grip for the fast side-to-side movement the game demands, and leaving the court dry and safe before play resumes. Many courts in Ho Chi Minh City were built quickly as the sport took off, and the maintenance plan often came later than the opening date. For a club or facility manager, the concern is rarely the first few months. It is the slow loss of grip and colour that players notice before the owner does, and the repainting bill that follows if it is left too long.
BPG Group is ISO 9001:2015 certified and received The Best of Vietnam 2024 award. Every cleaning job is carried out item by item as agreed in advance, with a photo report of the results and an acceptance record signed by both sides.
Why pickleball courts need regular deep cleaning
Pickleball courts need regular deep cleaning because dust, sweat, leaves and moisture gradually clog the textured acrylic surface, reducing grip and fading the colour. Courts that run from early morning to late evening collect more dirt than a typical tennis court, and outdoor courts in southern Vietnam also face heavy rain and humidity for much of the year. Regular sweeping helps, but it does not lift the grime that settles into the surface texture.
Three signs show that a court is due for a deep clean:
- Dull, patchy areas on the coating: the textured finish looks darker or greyer in high-traffic zones, which usually means dirt has filled the grain that gives the surface its grip.
- Players feel the court is slippery: pickleball involves constant lateral steps and quick stops, so even a small loss of traction is felt during play, especially in the kitchen area near the net.
- Moss and algae in corners and along the fence line: outdoor courts with poor drainage or shade from nearby trees tend to grow moss where water collects after rain.
Leaving these signs for months makes the next clean harder, because embedded dirt needs more passes and stronger treatment. That is why the scope of a professional pickleball court cleaning service should be clear before work starts.
What our pickleball court cleaning service covers
Our pickleball court cleaning service covers debris removal, water and dust removal, targeted treatment of moss and stubborn stains, machine scrubbing of the whole surface, and a final rinse and dry before handover. Machine scrubbing gives an even result across a large court area, which is difficult to achieve with mops and hand brushes. Each item is agreed in the quote, so the facility knows exactly what is included.
- Moss and stain treatment: areas with moss, algae or long-standing marks are treated with cleaning products suitable for sports court coatings before scrubbing.
- Net posts, lines and edges: dirt that builds up around the net, along the baselines and at the edges of the court is cleaned along with the playing surface.
- Slip reduction: removing the film of dirt from the textured coating helps bring back the grip players need for lateral movement.
- Surrounding areas on request: walkways, benches and spectator areas next to the courts can be added as separate items in the same visit.
The same approach applies to tennis courts and multi-sport courts with a similar acrylic finish. Facilities that need broader cleaning for buildings, warehouses or grounds can see our full range of industrial cleaning services.
How we clean a pickleball court step by step
A pickleball court is cleaned in five steps: clearing debris, removing standing water and dust, treating moss and stains, machine scrubbing, then rinsing, checking and drying before handover. The order matters, because scrubbing a court that still has leaves and grit on it can scratch the coating and spread dirt rather than lift it. The photo below shows BPG staff using a walk-behind scrubber and a squeegee on an outdoor court.

- Clear debris: leaves, broken branches and other loose items are removed from the surface and the fence line.
- Remove water and dust: standing water is pushed off with squeegees and loose dust is cleared so that the scrubber works on the coating itself.
- Treat moss and stains: cleaning solution is applied to moss, algae and stubborn marks and left for the time recommended by the product label.
- Machine scrub: the court is scrubbed with a pickleball court cleaning machine fitted with a brush suited to acrylic surfaces, working in overlapping passes.
- Rinse, check and dry: the court is rinsed, checked area by area with the facility’s representative, and left to dry fully before play.
Once the work is finished, we take photos of the results for each item and both sides sign the acceptance record. The next question most facility managers ask is how often this should be done.
How often should a pickleball court be cleaned
How often a pickleball court should be deep cleaned depends on how many hours it is played, whether it is indoor or outdoor, and how much shade and rain it gets. There is no single schedule for every court, so we suggest a frequency after looking at the site and the condition of the surface. The table below gives a general guide for pickleball court maintenance.
| Task | Typical frequency | Who usually does it |
| Sweeping leaves and debris, emptying bins | Daily, before opening | Facility staff |
| Squeegeeing standing water | After rain, before play | Facility staff |
| Machine deep cleaning of the court surface | Scheduled by usage and surface condition | Professional cleaning company |
| Moss treatment in shaded corners and drainage areas | More often in the rainy season | Professional cleaning company |
Courts with heavy daily bookings or courts under trees usually need deep cleaning more often than lightly used indoor courts. Knowing the frequency also makes it easier to understand what drives the cost of each visit.
What affects the cost of pickleball court cleaning
The cost of pickleball court cleaning depends on the number and size of courts, the current condition of the surface, how often the work is done and where the facility is located. BPG Group does not publish a fixed price list, because two courts of the same size can need very different amounts of work. We survey the site and send a quote broken down by item.
- Number of courts and total area: cleaning several courts in one visit is planned differently from a single court.
- Surface condition: light surface dirt needs fewer passes than moss or stains that have been left for months.
- One-off or recurring: a single deep clean and a recurring schedule are quoted on different terms.
- Working hours and location: work outside normal hours, at night or on public holidays may carry a labour surcharge, and sites far from our base may include transport costs, both shown clearly in the quote.
We focus our resources on Ho Chi Minh City, including the former Binh Duong province, and Dong Nai. If your facility is elsewhere, contact us first to check the schedule.
Frequently asked questions about pickleball court cleaning
Does cleaning affect the grip of a pickleball court?
When done with a suitable cleaner and brush, cleaning helps restore grip rather than reduce it, because it removes the film of dirt sitting on the textured coating. Grip problems after cleaning usually come from harsh chemicals or aggressive brushes that wear the surface.
Can you clean indoor and outdoor pickleball courts?
Yes. We clean both indoor and outdoor sports courts, including tennis and pickleball courts. Outdoor courts usually need extra attention to moss, drainage areas and debris from trees.
Do you need to close the court during cleaning?
Yes, the court being cleaned needs to be closed until it is fully dry. Facilities with several courts can keep some open by cleaning them in turns, and we can schedule work early in the morning or after closing time to reduce lost bookings.
Do you provide a report after the cleaning?
Yes. After each job we send photos of the results for each agreed item, and the facility’s representative and BPG sign an acceptance record. This gives club owners and managers a clear record for their own maintenance files.
Can pickleball court cleaning be combined with other services?
Yes, if your site has other cleaning needs such as changing rooms, walkways, offices or landscaped areas, they can be added as separate items in the same quote. BPG Group works as a single point of contact for cleaning, landscaping, pest control and technical maintenance.
